Will of Martin Turman.

In the name of God Amen. I Martin Turman of the county of Walton and state of Georgia being weak in body but of sound mind and memory thanks be to God do make this my last will and Testament. First of all I recommend my soul to God who gave it. My body to the dust to be buried in a decent manner, by my Executors hereafter mentioned, and as to my worldly estate I divide as follows, Viz. Item, I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Molly Haley one dollar. Item, I give and bequeath to John Turmans heirs one dollar. Item, I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Letty Butler one dollar. Item, I give and bequeath to my Daughter Nancy Waltham one dollar. Item, give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Paxton one dollar. Item I give and bequeath to my son George Turman one dollar. Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Christopher Turman one dollar. Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Leonard Turman one dollar. Item, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rebecca the land I now live on and one negro boy named Matterson and all the rest of my perishable property that will be in her possession at my decease. Also, all the rest of my property remaining which is land, one lot lying in Franklin County and two lots lying in Elbert County. It is my wish and desire that these three lots of land lying in Elbert and Franklin Counties shall be sold and all my just debts paid out of the money arising from the three tracts of land before mentioned. And the balance of the money arising from the sales of the above land to be appropriated to the schooling of my two sons, James M. Turman and Jeptha J. Turman and all the above property that I have given to my beloved wife Rebecca Turman is to be for her use until my two sons, James M. Turman and Jeptha J. Turman shall become of age and then it is to be equally divided between her and my two sons abovementioned. I do hereby nominate and appoint Andrew Brown my Executor and Rebecca Turman Executrix, my sole executors for me in this my last Will and Testament, disannulling all wills heretofore by me made hoping that they may be spared to see it truly executed. This my last Will and Testament, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty-eighth day of July in the year of our Lord, 1824.
